The Assistant Director of Food Services will lead and impact guest experiences through the innovative delivery of food services. The assistant director must demonstrate both Christ-centered servant leadership and a desire to love people through the ministry of food and dining services. In addition to responsibilities specific to food services, the ability to adapt to the expectations of all six WinShape Foundation ministries will be critical to the success of this leadership role. This individual will be able and eager to lead, inspire and motivate team members to glorify God by creating experiences that transform lives.

     

    Reports to:  Director of Guest Experiences

     

     

     

    Responsibilities

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a 30- to 40-person Food and Dining Service team
    • Provide exceptional customer service through all WinShape venues, including a 220-seat buffet-style dining hall and other private meeting and dining areas
    • Design food, dining and catering service strategies, including menu creation, planning and procurement, inventory management and quality assurance
    • Develop and steward the annual budget (~$1.4 million) for Food Services
    • Work in close liaison with Camp and other ministries as well as members of the Leadership Team to align with ministry objectives
    • Set expectations to subordinates by providing guidance and direction
    • Coach and support the food & beverage leadership team
    • Identify opportunities for innovation by remaining aware of market trends and introducing new food and beverage products

    Qualifications

     

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a food service environment
    • Minimum of 5 – 7 years of management experience with supervising, coaching and developing people
    • ServSafe Certification preferred
    • Proficiency with computer software systems
    • Ability to communicate with clarity and simplicity
    • Strong time management, organization and prioritization skills
    • Ability to travel on a limited basis
    • Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends as business needs require
