The culinarian will be passionate about food and love to cook, working alongside others and creating memorable experiences for Retreat guests.


Reports to:  Executive Chef




  • Prepare and assist culinary staff in the preparation of guest and staff meals
  • Ensure the appropriate preparation and presentation of all culinary products
  • Assist the Purchasing Specialist with food orders and inventory control
  • Support Coordinators in staff training, development, menu planning, cost control and inventory
  • Maintain a visible presence with the guests at any and all locations where food is served
  • Clean and sanitize all areas of the Food Service department


  • Minimum 2-5 years of cooking experience in a food service environment
  • Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures and health codes
  • ServSafe Certification
  • Basic understanding of computer software systems
  • Able to communicate with clarity and simplicity
  • Able to work as part of a team in a kitchen atmosphere
  • Willing to learn new skills and/or techniques related to food service
  • Able to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends as business needs require

FLSA Status:  Regular Part-Time, Non-Exempt
