Scope of Position: Manages the development and implementation of the vision, direction, and structure of International Camps in aliginment with strategic plans. Leads the International team to create and excellent experience and assumes accountability for program outcomes and safety standards of all participants and staff. Servces on the WinShape Camps Leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Drives long-term vision and strategy for effective International Ministry
  • Maintains strong partnerships with local camp leaders and organizations, including Lifeshape and Thriveworx, in Costa Rica and Brazil.
  • Manages the planning and execution of WSC International Summer Camps, including travel, team selection, team training and communication, partner communication, purchasing, theme development and programming
  • Manages the planning and execution of Spring Break WSC International Projects, including travel, team selection, team training and communication, partner communication, purchasing, theme development and programming
  • Leads team-specific trainings at Leadership Weekend, Staff Training Week and Project Trainings
  • Builds partnering relationships with International camping organizations, resourcing them with trainings, relationships, and collaborative experiences that may be helpful to their ministries.
  • Implements a strategy for local communities to run camps independently of WinShape Camps after three years of partnership.
  • Researches trends and implements evaluation tools to measure success of WSC International Camps.
  • Works closely with Risk Management and Talent Services to ensure safe and compliant policies are implemented for International travel and partnerships.
  • Supervises year-round WSCC International Function—including one Coordinator and two Director Associates.
  • Serves as the primary trainer for WSC International Director Associates.
  • Manages the WSC International budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field of study or equivalent work experience
  • Requires 5-7 years' experience working with camp or international ministries, including leading people
  • Requires a high level of decision making, internpersonal skills, spiritual maturity and ability to lead autonomously
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound, rational judgments, analyze situations accurately and take effective action
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and make well thought out decisions
  • Demonstrated skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to keep staff inspired, focused and dedicated to their assigned tasks while looking for creative ways to make their work more productive
  • Skilled in organizing tasks, delegating and achieving goals and objective
  • A self-professing Christ follower, actively involved in a Christian faith community and actively pursuing Christ on a consistent basis.
  • Must hold or obtain a valid driver’s license for the state in which they are hired and have an acceptable driving record.
