Scope of Position:

The counselor position will provide individual and family counseling services in order to bring the inner healing ministry of Jesus Christ to foster children and families in our supported foster homes. 

 

Participates on staff team:  Works closely with intake staff, Child Placing Agency (CPA) case managers, and foster parents of WinShape Homes.

Clinical Director, WinShape Homes

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual, family, and group counseling as directed to WinShape foster children and parents, and works a flexible schedule that includes evenings
  • Keeps clinically professional documentation maintaining confidentiality of all clients, and maintains HIPAA (1996) compliance standards
  • Assesses and builds a treatment plan for each child in care receiving counseling services using a trauma informed approach
  • Participates in case consultations with Intake staff, Case Managers, foster care Director, and collaborating professionals as determined
  • Provides intensive session(s) when needed for WinShape Homes foster children across the state where Homes are located
  • Attends clinical treatment team meetings, WinShape Foundation, and WinShape Homes events, trainings, and retreats as assigned
  • Maintains continuing education state requirements toward professional licensure
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director

Qualifications

Spiritual:

  • A self-professing Christ follower, actively involved in a Christian faith community and actively pursuing Christ on a consistent basis
  • Committed to discipleship, prayer, and Bible study
  • Servant leadership as modeled by Jesus Christ

Education:

  • Holds a Master’s Degree from a CACREP accredited college or university
  • Body of clinical knowledge and skills related to the responsibilities of the position, especially in the field of foster care, trauma, and attachment
  • Valid driver’s license and is insurable

Professional:

  • Minimum 1 – 2 years in the field (includes resident internship)
  • Commitment to clinical supervision toward full state licensure
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in teambuilding and teamwork
  • Must be willing to travel in a WinShape Foundation vehicle to help children in crisis, attend workshops, seminars, and meetings
  • Experience in individual, family, and group counseling with a wide range of clients, including children

Preferred:

  • Experience working with foster care population
  • Current Associate Professional Counselor (APC) from the state of GA
